A competency-based blended learning model

Project

In higher education, students tend to focus on outperforming others instead of enhancing their competencies. Students are induced to enhance their competencies if their underlying motives are autonomously motivated.

Students' autonomous motivation could be promoted by Competency-
Based Education (CBE) that offers a context in which students are stimulated to enhance their competencies. Moreover, students' autonomous motivation could be promoted by blended learning, a student-centered learning experience that combines face-to-face and online interactions. However, to our knowledge, there are no design guidelines for blended learning that support instructional designers and teachers in promoting students' autonomous motivation in CBE contexts. This research aims to construct a Competency-Based Blended Learning model (CB/BL) model that support instructional designers and teachers.
