Het project ‘Storytelling for Collective Care in our Neighborhoods’ was genomineerd voor de titel ‘Onderzoek van het jaar’ op de HvA Kennisparade! Associate lector Elise Talgorn en docent-onderzoeker Djie Han Thung namen met dit project de derde plaats in ontvangst.
Voor en door de buurt
Binnen dit project, van onderzoeksgroep Creative Media for Social Change, werd de kracht van verhalen onderzocht. De video's die bewoners van de Wildemanbuurt (Amsterdam Nieuw-West) over hun eigen buurt maken, stonden hierin centraal. Wat voor impact hebben hun verhalen op de buurt? ‘’It’s nice to see that there’s recognition for the fact that stories, made by people for people, are important. The work from the Stadsreporters is really good and it’s being seen. That’s what matters to me’’, aldus Elise, ‘"All the nominated projects were centered on citizen participation, and I’m happy that the university values that. My hope for the future is to keep working with local stories and the Stadsreporters, and to explore how people connect to their environments. So not only the cities they live in but also the surrounding green spaces and nature."
