dr. I. van Hille (Iteke)
OnderzoekerProfile
Iteke van Hille works as a researcher at the Faculty of Business and Economics, for two professorships: Entrepreneurship, and Collaborative Innovation and Entrepreneurship. As a teacher, she works at the Amsterdam School of International Business.
In her research, Iteke focuses primarily on multi-stakeholder collaboration for sustainability. More specifically, she studies the role of network orchestrators – or conveners – in organizing collaboration for sustainability transitions. Most of her work focuses on sustainable development in the context of global supply chains, or the circular transition. Recurring themes in her research are collaborative business models, collaborative innovation, social entrepreneurship and sustainability transitions. She uses primarily qualitative research methods.
Convening cross-sector collaboration
The importance of collaboration is widely accepted in many different contexts. However, collaboration can be very complex. How partners create and capture value from their collaboration for grand challenges is a theme that Iteke has been working on for years. Iteke has a background in the social sciences, with a BSc in Sociology at the University of Amsterdam, and a Research Master degree in Social Research (Organization Sciences track). After graduation, Iteke has worked several years for IDH, the Sustainable Trade Initiative, prior to pursuing her PhD at the VU University in Amsterdam. Her PhD research
focused on the role of conveners in organizing cross-sector collaboration to strengthen sustainable development in global supply chains.
