Entrepreneurship College - The SDG Edition #2
HvA en KIT collegereeks duurzaamheidsdoelen in het SDG HouseEvenement
On a monthly basis, lectures are organized around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Every session we invite different guest speakers: academic experts and entrepreneurs working in the field of the SDGs. We will discuss root causes, challenges, relevant theories and important stakeholders, and above all the role of innovation and entrepreneurship to contribute to the realisation of the SDGs.
SDG 3: health & well-being
On the 11th of October Esther Miedema will give us an introduction to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. What targets should we reach in 2030 in terms of SDG 3? What role does gender play? And what is the current state of affairs? Miedema can bridge practice and theory due to her 18 years of experience in the United Nations and NGO sector, combined with her current academic career as a researcher at the University of Amsterdam / Universiteit van Amsterdam.
Guest speaker Denise van Dijk
Our second guest speaker, Denise van Dijk - president of the The Female Health Company, demonstrates the importance of the SDGs in entrepreneurial practices. The Female Health Company is a social business developing female condom markets on the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America in the public and private health sector.
