Emerging Markets of Europe


Would you like to study in Romania for a week? Join the Autumn School and increase your knowledge on communication in emerging markets of Europe. The course will be given in Cluj-Napoca, Romania with selected lecturers and students from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and the Babeș-Bolyai University.

The AUAS Autumn School offers the unique opportunity to study a module in business communication in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in October. Key focus at this Autumn School are Europe‘s Emerging markets.

Selected lecturers and students from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands and the Babeș-Bolyai University, Romania welcome international students to participate. Join social and cultural events in Cluj-Napoca, the country‘s second most populous city (also known as Romania‘s technopolis). Fine food, monuments and the local moderate prices make Cluj attractive. Besides you will visit count Dracula‘s castle. The institute hosting the AUAS Autumn School, is the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, the largest university in Romania, with 39,000 students. Some of whom will join the Autumn School.

During this Autumn School all participants co-write (on their own names) a new issue of our glossy magazine. A professional journal in English on international communication, which the students will launch during a self-organised festive seminar, with an after-party. Besides competitive edge classes around emerging markets, the course programme includes study visits to IT and outsourcing companies and an introductory class to Romanian culture.

If you are a student from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and you want to get the credit count:

  • If you would like this Autumn School to be added as an extra curricular course to your Bachelor Diploma, please apply to the examination board beforehand; 
  • If you are an honours student you need to ask permission from the honours programme coordinator (Mrs Irena van Nynatten-Janikowska, email: i.van.nynatten-janikowska@hva.nl). If you are permitted to follow this course as an honours programme by the honours coordinator, participation to the Autumn School will grant you 5 EC. This consists of 3 EC as part of the regular Autumn School programme and 2 additional EC if an extra assignment outside the Autumn School week is completed satisfactorily.
