Programme

Our one-year full-time programme is based in bustling Amsterdam - home to several of the world’s leading design agencies. During your study, you’ll work on exciting design briefs in a studio setting within an international and multidisciplinary team.

The master of science programme in Digital Design is centred around three Playgrounds. These are content bubbles for you to explore through your team projects: Emerging Interactions, Emerging Futures, and Emerging Ecologies. In total, you will work on three major team projects within these playgrounds. In addition, you enjoy lectures, masterclasses, workshops by our teaching staff and renown guests from the industry and academic worlds.

Project

During your year at the Master Digital Design, you will work on three main team projects. These are related to your Playground of choice. During these projects you will have the freedom to explore different design venues and approaches. Your team project is concluded with a Feedback Feast. During these events, you will exhibit your project and will receive feedback from design professionals, researchers, and lecturers on your work. What follows is a two week period where you will continue to iterate on your project either as a team or individually.
At the end of the year, the programme hosts an exhibition and party where you can display your best work and discuss it with guests from the design industry and academic worlds.

Assessments

You are evaluated in two summative assessments in January and June, for 30 ECTS each, These summative assessments consider your successful demonstration of the acquired competences provided by the programme and your individual study plan. Other formative assessments are provided by each lecturer through feedback given throughout the year.

Title and Diploma

After successfully completing the Digital Design programme, you will be awarded the title of Master of Science (M.Sc.), at the Postgraduate Level 7 of the Dutch Qualification Framework (NLQF).
