Walking the global citizen path starts with YOUR story
EvenementIn this workshop you’ll learn how to use storytelling as an engagement tool, why to use it, when and what are the important elements to keep in mind. The workshop will include some exercises and will be a quick intro to the topic of storytelling.
In this keynote, Sobhi Khatib will share some parts of his story and invites you to think about where it can relate to your story as well. Together, we explore the power of connecting the personal to the general, and the local to the international. This will include some information (and of course stories) on intercultural communications, inclusion, sense of belonging, connecting skills and education.
Concepts like Internationalization and global citizenship can be too far to connect to. How does it relate to you? Why should it be of an importance to you? What can we do to humanize those big concepts and make them ours?

About Sobhi Khatib
Sobhi Khatib is keynote speaker, trainer and consultant. He has led teams and projects across 30 countries for the last 20 years. Some of his current and previous clients include: AUAS, United Nations, Netflix, Al-Jazeera, Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Salesforce among many others. Sobhi works on the intersection of multiple topics, such as: storytelling, innovation, digital transformation, playfulness, human rights, creativity, diversity and inclusion. He brings theory and practice together with an emotional journey for a lasting impact. Sobhi is a Palestinian, citizen of other three countries, and lived in a fifth one before settling in Amsterdam 10 years ago.
About Think Global Festival
The Think Global Festival is the AUAS's annual event about the value of internationalisation for our teaching and research. The festival offers inspiration about international issues for staff, students and interested parties. This year, the focus is on global citizenship and engagement. The event will explore what this actually means, and discuss whether it is important that we are all educated to be global citizens.
