'Design Justice'

NOTE: NEW DATES !! We have chosen to read Sasha Costanza-Chock's 2020 book 'Design Justice'. There is no physical or e-book version available at the AUAS library. You will have to buy your own copy. The e-book version is available at bol.com. If you want a physical version, they have a two-week lead time. Sadly (depending on your perspective) you can buy either an e-book or physical version immediately at amazon.nl (and they are cheaper than at bol.com šŸ§). An open access version of the book can legally be downloaded as a pdf version for free.

Reading Group process

We discuss this book in two, 90-minute, Thursday afternoon sessions as follows:

  • Session 1 Beginning up to and including chapter 3 : Thursday 8 April 2021 16:30 - 18:00
  • Session 2 From chapter 4 to end: Thursday 15 Apr 2021 16:30 -18:00

The idea is that we will start each session with a short (15 min. max.) presentation by one or two group members where they explain what they see as the most important discussion points. We will then continue with a group discussion about the book. Charlie Mulholland volunteers to prepare an introduction for the first session on 25 March, but it would be nice if volunteers could come forward for the second session (you can let him know via the registration form).

To ensure that the Reading Group contributes to the Learning Community's mission to participate in knowledge production, we would like to capture our insights with the Miro interactive whiteboard app. Our senior lecturer Charlie Mulholland will arrange and manage this because he thinks it will be more productive and less invasive than a video recording of our discussion through Teams.
