Entrepreneurship lunch with Joris Ebbers

Evenement

On 19 March we will welcome Joris Ebbers as a speaker at our Entrepreneurship lunch.

On 19 March, Joris Ebbers, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Amsterdam Business School will share with us his recent research on business incubators.

Joris studied 7 different dimensions of informal intra-incubator networks together with Wouter Stam. They studied the degree in which both the  new venture founders’ perceived value of these network dimensions, as well as their actual network ties in the incubator, affect performance. Finally, they studied how these effects of intra-incubator networks on performance is moderated by: a) the age of the company, b) the size of the company, and c) the amount of time the company has been located in the incubator.

Joris is the deputy head of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation section of the Amsterdam Business School, and coordinator and cofounder of the Entrepreneurship and Management in the Creative Industries (EMCI) specialization in the Master in Business Administration. Also, he is an active partner in the IXAnext program supported by the municipality of Amsterdam to stimulate entrepreneurship at universities, where he focuses on university-based business incubation and acceleration activities. His main research interests are entrepreneurship, social networks, and organization.

Entrepreneurship lunches

In order to stimulate cross-fertilization between entrepreneurship and other disciplines, the Entrepreneurship Program organizes Entrepreneurship lunches. The lunches take place every two weeks in the Venture Studios in the Wibauthuis. Both AUAS and external researchers and teachers are invited to present their work and discuss current entrepreneurship issues with a select audience. Other AUAS spearheads are also actively involved.
