Entrepreneurship College - The SDG Edition
SDG 14: Life below WaterEvenement
Every second Thursday of the month, we organize lectures around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Our guest speakers are academic experts and entrepreneurs working in the field of the SDGs. They discuss root causes, challenges, relevant theories and important stakeholders. But above all, we go into the role of innovation and entrepreneurship, if we want to reach the goals by 2030. So join us, go back to school and immerse yourself in knowledge for sustainability!
SDG 14: Life below water
"We know more about the moon, than we know about oceans". Since oceans and seas cover 70 % of our planet, and they are of vital importance for food, energy and water, don't you want to know more about it? What is plastic soup and why is it such a big problem? What is needed for healthy oceans? Our academic guest speaker Erik van Sebille, oceanographer, climate scientist and winner of the Outstanding Young Scientist Award, will answer such questions and share his knowlegde on SDG 14: Life Below Water.
Our second guest speaker believes the ocean holds the key to our most pressing problems: climate change, food security and pollution. And if we good take care of the ocean, she will provide for us. Zairah Khan, founder of social enterprise BlueO2, kickstarts financially self-sustaining ocean based solutions that put planet and people first. She will take you along in her work and experiences as social entrepreneur at this Entrepreneurship College!
