Guyonne Alleman winner Aviation Academy Graduation Conference

On the 2nd of July, graduate student Guyonne Alleman won the Aviation Academy Graduation Price 2014. During the Aviation Academy Graduation Conference, the five best graduation students presented their graduation results to just over 50 lectureres and people from the aviation industry.

Guyonne graduated at the research programme of the Aviation Academy on the subject Air-coupled transducers for Ultrasonic Verification. She investigated the best configuration of Air-coupled transducers to detect damages on composite aircraft structures. She concluded that, under certain circumstances, air-coupled transducers càn be used to detect damages. Guyonne Alleman will continue her research to monitoring composite aircraft structures at the Technical University of Delft.

Good presentation, an impact on society and an excellent research methodology‘, according to professor and jury member Robert Jan de Boer. The guests qualified the event as ‘an excellent conference with a good overview of the technical and organizational challenges of modern aviation‘.
