SCHIPHOL – aircraft maintenance organization Jetsupport, established on Schiphol, has implemented a Lean Six Sigma programme within the maintenance process of aircraft in cooperation with the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
The programme aims to support the company with the communication with customers. The programme is continually executed. According to Jetsupport director Ton van Deursen helps Lean the organization to listen to the needs of their customers: ‘All activities that do not add value for the customer have been discontinued’.
Thanks to the Lean programme, Jetsupport was able to keep the man hour rate of €95,-. ‘If we did not take this precaution, we would have had to increase the rate’.
