Supporting teacher educators for better learning outcomes
Teacher educators are crucial players for maintaining - and improving - the high quality of the teaching workforce. They can have a significant impact upon the quality of teaching and learning in our schools. Yet they are often neglected in policy-making, meaning that some Member States do not always benefit fully from the knowledge and experience of this key profession. This document offers policymakers practical advice that is underpinned by evidence from academic research and from the analysis of current policies in participating countries. It identifies key characteristics of successful policies and gives practical examples. The report is the result of a peer learning process of representatives from different members states, supported by the European Commission.
